Another unfortunate happening in the MLM industry has taken place as Efusjon leaves the MLM industry.  The following is a letter sent out to distributors on Aug 31st.

 
“Dear eFusjon Distributors:
It is with great sadness that we announce today that we must cease the direct sales multi-level marketing business of eFusjon, Inc. as of September 1, 2010.

The independent contractor distributor agreements will terminate as of this date.See Distributor Agreement, Section 7 (“The Agreement shall continue in effect between the parties hereto until either party terminates the Agreement…”).Qualified distributors will receive their last compensation check for the month of August, less offsets against any amounts that are owed to the Company, on September 10th. Any commissions due will be available in your “Hyperwallet” account until October 31, 2010, after which date you will need to contact the corporate office (to access your “Hyperwallet” account please go to www.efusjonpay.com, or contact customer service for assistance). The Company will send refunds of the $30 membership fee to those distributors who became members in August 2010.

This was a very difficult decision for the Company and not one we had hoped to make. When the owners started eFusjon in 2008, we envisioned a unique and successful MLM business with healthy and unparalleled beverage products. The goal was to market these products through independent distributors via the MLM direct sales business model. Distributor performance, however, has been steadily declining for over a year now, and as a result, so has the Company’s revenues. The Company can no longer maintain a marketing model that is not generating the funds needed to grow a viable business. In short, the Company’s MLM business model is no longer a sustainable marketing strategy.

With a certain level of optimism, we also announce today our decision to explore other opportunities for the eFusjon product many of you have come to love. For some period of time, you may continue to enjoy eFusjon products through purchases (without compensation) on the eFusjon website www.efusjon.com.

Lastly, we extend a sincere and heartfelt thank you to all of you for your dedication to eFusjon over the years and for standing by our product and the Company during the height of our success as well as through more recent challenging times. We share your disappointment about the recent turn of events, but are cautiously optimistic about the future of eFusjon and eFusjon’s unparalleled, healthy beverages.

My first piece of advice for former Efusjon reps is not to panic (easy for me to say, I know).  Secondly, is to take immediate action if you have an existing downline from your Efusjon business in order to keep it intact before they disperse.  You have now experienced one of the downsides to being involved in the highly competitive industry of health and wellness, specifically the energy drink and health juice niche.  As you seek another home for your team something you may consider is whether you want to venture into the same category and potentially end up in the same position once again at no fault of your own. You will find that not many Efusjon reps will continue to purchase the product,even though it is still availiable, now that its network marketing division is closed. Therefore, your new choice should be a company in which you would continue to get the product even if you were not joining it for the income opportunity.  One alternative is to move into a company which operates in a category aside from the usual three main categories of consumables, services and technology.  Lets now discuss the 5 critical things needed to absolutely avoid this scenario ever happening again:
 
1.    You need a product that gives your reps REAL VALUE, even if they don’t build the business.  I’m not talking about savings, I’m talking about something that will put money into your weakest rep’s pocket– that rep that will neither recruit nor sell, but will buy the product.  The product needs to be a true ASSET, not just a consumable, service, or technology.
 

2.     You need a product that will cause your reps to think twice about getting off autoship.  Did you know that only 5-7 out of 100 reps remain on autoship after 3 months?  You may know this very intimately since these numbers reflect the cause of Efusjon’s current situation.  You must have a product that your reps can see will hurt them financially by NOT having it.  In the mind of your rep, they need to be thinking, “the more of this I have, the better off financially I will be.” 

3.     You need a product that is easy for the newest rep to have success because it’s easy for them to explain with little or no training.  Turning into a scientist or techno-guru is slowing down your growth.  Some ingredients are difficult to pronounce let alone explain.  Simplicity is the key. 

4.     You need a comp plan that offers massive upfront cashflow that isn’t dependent upon your own production.  We all love to quote J. Paul Getty who said, “I would rather earn 1% of 100 men’s efforts than earn 100% of my own.”  Well, what if there was a comp plan that paid you 100% of 100 men’s efforts?  That type of comp plan does exist and it is critical to getting free sooner than later.

5.     You need a team of leaders who have successfully accomplished genuine success.  Your coach/upline must be the “real deal.”  You can have a superior product, but with weak leadership and systems, you won’t succeed.  McDonald’s has a VERY inferior burger, but a SUPERIOR system that is undeniable.

The challenge for most of us is that we can look at this list of 5 things and point to only two or three of them as being available in any company we evaluate.  Without having all 5 of these things, you will be stuck trying to get free for the next few years, if ever.
